Integra Series Radio 256 -bit AES encryption has been validated with FIPS 197 certification

22018 November

SAF is pleased to announce FIPS 197 certification for the Integra family of full outdoor radios. FIPS is the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) specified for a FIPS – approved cryptographic algorithm that can be used to protect electronic data.

FIPS is the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The goal of FIPS is to create a uniform level of security for sensitive but unclassified information – a large portion of the electronic data not considered secret or higher.

Federal departments and agencies can use this standard when sensitive (unclassified) information requires cryptographic protection. State and local governments along with public safety organizations often will adopt this added level of data security protection.

Deploying FIPS 197 certified microwave backhaul equipment is an assurance by the United States government that the network management and payload traffic has been secured and defended.

SAF Tehnika is listed as vendor no. 5899 on the NIST – Computer Security Resource Center’s cryptographic algorithm validation program for AES Validation

You can have peace of mind that NIST has reviewed and verified the testing results of the independent lab that put the Integra’s cryptographic modules through the ringer.
