GALLERY: Study science, kids!

152018 February

Study science! This is probably something we’ve all heard from our parents and teachers at some point when we were kids ourselves. I think we can all agree that it is pretty hard to determine what career path you will choose when you’re in 7th or 8th grade.

Luckily Junior Achievement Latvia gives kids an amazing opportunity to snoop around and learn all the nooks and crannies of an office environment, before stepping into one after the graduation. Shadow Day is an annual event that happens all over Latvia and yesterday we got a chance to welcome students from middle school and high school and show them our daily tasks. Starting from the R&D department and ending with Sales and Marketing. Whether or not we inspired kids to study science, we are sure we did inspire them on studying and working in a field that excites you.

SAF has always supported those who study and we had the pleasure to sponsor a student trip to CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). In collaboration with RTU (Riga Technical University), 5 students were sent to ‘shadow’ scientists and learn more about Higgs boson.

Whether you’ve had the chance to experience one of the coolest science laboratories in the world or you have done a DIY science project at home, we hope you are inspired by science just as much as we are. As one wise man once said:

I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
- Albert Einstein
